The summer following my freshman year of college, I took a job selling ADT security. I became the top-selling first-year consultant, selling 119 accounts—triple the first-year average. The following two summers I generated 188 then 311 sales. This year, summer 2020, I hit the 350 mark. Who would have guessed this would result from a simple lunch with a recruiter—I was originally in it for the Jimmy John’s sandwich! 

Selling alarms the past few summers has taught me important lessons applicable to any profession: be honest with yourself and hold yourself accountable; know your customer and understand their needs; and be authentic. This job can also serve a number of worthy and practical causes, whether that’s earning a living, or simply doing it for a summer or two to get through college and on to grad school. 

EVO has changed my life financially and given me confidence that I can become an expert in whatever I choose to discipline myself. It can do the same for you.
